How to get to the start of the K2PD
The K2PD race starts at 6.00am
The 60km Kuranda to Port Douglas race starts on Black Mountain Road approximately 200m from the Kennedy Highway turn off. It takes about 30 minutes to drive from Cairns Esplanade/CBD to the start of the race. There is street parking at the start.
Those who paid for transport as part of their registration will be picked up at 5.15am at the bus stop diagonally across the road from the Smithfield Shopping Centre (on the Kennedy Highway). DON’T be late, the bus can’t wait for you. A volunteer or club members will help with transport of early starters, but you still need to pay for transport.

Return journey
It takes about 1 hour to drive from Port Douglas back to Cairns.
Competitors who paid for transport will be catered for. Please see the Finish line manager as soon as practical after completing the event so that they can organise your transport back to Cairns.
How to get to the start of Leg Four (Top of the Bump)

This information is relevant for Teams. You need to supply your own transport to the Top of the Bump - the start of Leg Four of the Relay.
If you have a 4WD, you can follow your team members along Black Mountain Road. If not, you need to access the Top of the Bump via Port Douglas or the Tablelands.
From Port Douglas, drive 10km north-west towards Mossman on the Captain Cook Highway and turn left onto the Rex Range (Mossman-Mt Molloy Road). Follow this windy pass for 20.5 km turn left onto Euluma Creek Road, after 280 m take the 1st left to stay on Euluma Creek Road. Stay on Euluma Creek Road and follow the signs to Black Mountain Hideaway, the Top of the Bump is about 1km past the Black Mountain Hideaway turnoff. See map at http://goo.gl/maps/zg76E

Return journey
The event ends in Port Douglas. K2PD Team member must find their own way back home from the finish line.

Accommodation
We recommend you find accommodation in Cairns on the Saturday night. Some competitors opt to stay in Port Douglas on the Sunday and find their own way home after the race. Others leave a vehicle in Port prior to the event so they have their own transport after the event.
